What if everyone had a space to express?

Many communities have limited access to performing arts and creative well-being experiences.

Nritya Sanjiwani brings these experiences directly into communities — using Kathak, movement, art and storytelling as pathways for expression, connection, and self-discovery.

Art should not be a privilege.

What is Nritya Sanjiwani

More than a dance class.

Nritya Sanjiwani is a cultural movement for emotional well-being. It brings six practices into one room, and lets participants decide what to do with them.

Our Approach
गति

The method moves in three

Bare feet with ghungroo ankle bells during tatkar footwork.
01
जोड

Connect

Movement, rhythm and body awareness. Learning that the body is a place you are allowed to be.

A dancer's hands forming a mudra, face expressive.
02
खोज

Explore

Emotion, story and expression. Finding what wants to be said, without needing the words for it.

03
सृजन

Create

Collaboration, art and performance. Turning private experience into something shared.

The Three Phases

From first step to shared stage

Phase 01
जोड

Connect

Participants discover Kathak, rhythm, movement, and body awareness. The first weeks build comfort and trust before anything is asked of anyone.

Phase 02
अभिव्यक्ति

Explore & Express

Kathak, somatic movement, art, storytelling and guided emotional reflection come together, with professional counsellor support throughout.

Phase 03
सृजन

Create & Share

Participants transform their experiences into a collaborative artistic work — authored by them, performed on their terms.

The stage is not the destination. It is the celebration of the journey.

हाम्रो यात्रा

Before this, there was a year.

The 2026–27 community program did not begin from nothing. It began in borrowed rooms, with a first group of people who showed us what the work actually needed to be.

Month 2026

The first open session

Who came, what was taught, and how the room felt by the end. The first session is the one people always ask about — keep the small detail rather than the headline.

Place, Kathmandu Valley
Month 2026

A movement and storytelling workshop

What the workshop covered, who co-led it, and what participants made or said by the close. Note anything that changed the plan afterwards.

Hosted by a partner organisation
Month 2026

Weekly sessions inside the community

The stretch of weekly sessions — where they ran, how attendance held across the weeks, and what having a counsellor in the room made possible.
